Greatest sports movies

Like most guys I love a good sports movie.  They will bring you to tears, give you chills, and inspire you for hours.  There have been many great ones over the years but here are my top 5:

Remember the Titans
Remember the Titans (Widescreen Edition)

Rudy
Rudy (Special Edition)

Hoosiers
Hoosiers

Miracle
Miracle (Full Screen Edition)

Chariots of Fire
Chariots of Fire

I didn't include comedies ... if so, Major League, Talladega Nights, and Happy Gilmore would have made the list ;)

Baseball fans might be ticked that Bull Durham, Field of Dreams and The Natural did not make the list (what can I say, baseball is not my favorite).  Invictus, The Blind Side, and We Are Marshall are all solid choices.  I also didn't consider the Rocky series because they may have dominated my list.  What are your all-time top sports movies?

3 Recent Music Discoveries

I love discovering new music - it's somewhat of a hobby.  As one who does not listen to the radio, I check out samples from iTunes and research new music online.  I often buy a song or two from various artists and come back for more if I dig 'em.  Here are three artists that I came across lately and can't seem to get enough of:

Deer Tick
- if you want to try a song or two, I'd recommend: Twenty Miles, Dirty Dishes, and These Old Shoes
Born On Flag Day

Dawes
- buy the North Hills album or start with: When My Time Comes and When You Call My Name.
North Hills

Johnny Flynn
- Thank you to my friend, Sean, for the recommendation.  Check out Tickle Me Pink and Brown Trout Blues from A Larum or one of his latest songs, Kentucky Pill.

Top 5 action movie tough guys

Lots of potential candidates for this top list so I decided to focus on tough guy characters that appeared in more than one movie.  My apologies to James Bond crazies but I have never been much of a fan (although Daniel Craig has a good chance of changing my mind).  Here's my list:

Frank Martin (Jason Statham) - Transporter
 - He is so awesome he single handedly inspired me to shave my head
The Transporter Collection

John McClain (Bruce Willis) - Die Hard
- Just reinforces my argument that bald guys are super awesome
Die Hard - The Ultimate Collection (Die Hard / Die Hard 2 / Die Hard with a Vengeance / Live Free or Die Hard Two-Disc Special Editions)

John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) - Rambo
-Rambo is so tough that he can sport a mullet and get away with it
Rambo Trilogy (Ultimate Edition DVD Collection) (3-Disc Collector Set) - (First Blood/Rambo: First Blood Part II/Rambo III)

Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) - Bourne Trilogy
- Even though I was a grown man when the movies came out, I literally wanted to be Jason Bourne for quite some time
The Bourne Trilogy (The Bourne Identity / The Bourne Supremacy / The Bourne Ultimatum) (Slim Packaging) [Blu-ray]

Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) - Lethal Weapon
- one of my favorites from high school
Lethal Weapon: 4 Film Favorites

Here is one that should definitely be on the list (I'll call it a tie for 5th):

Han Solo (Harrison Ford) - Star Wars
Star Wars Trilogy

And although he is confined to TV, he is SO TOUGH he deserves a nod:

Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) - 24
24: Complete Series
